Classification of base oils

Class 1
The base mineral oil extracted from petroleum has different molecular sizes, average lubricity, weak antioxidant capacity, poor viscosity-temperature performance, and is prone to coking and producing sludge. It is light yellow in color. Many people on the market also classify recycled oil as a type of oil, which confuses people.
Class 2
Based on the first-class base oil, the mineral oil made by hydrogenation has fewer impurities than the first-class base oil, and other properties are slightly improved. The color is mostly pure white or slightly yellow.
Class 3

The mineral oil obtained by multiple hydrogenation on the basis of Class II has significantly improved comprehensive performance compared with Class II. The physical and chemical indicators of high-quality Class III+ base oil GTL are close to Class IV PAO, but there is still a gap in low temperature performance and anti-oxidation.
Class 4
It is a fully synthetic poly-alpha olefin with no impurities, excellent high and low temperature performance, and strong antioxidant ability. It is a truly fully synthetic base oil.
Class 5
Those that do not belong to the first four categories are collectively classified into five categories, which are mostly used to represent base oils such as esters, monoesters, diesters, and polyol esters. These base oil molecules have strong adhesion and are more likely to form a tough oil film on the metal surface.

Currently, many businesses in the market sell semi-synthetic or even mineral oil as fully synthetic to make huge profits. It is difficult for ordinary consumers to distinguish. We can only draw conclusions through data indicator analysis.

Poor engine oil has poor lubricity, which can easily cause excessive wear of the engine, reduce performance, and easily cause tile burning and sludge accumulation, thus reducing the service life of the engine as shown below:
